Stutt lýsing

This course offers an introduction to how artificial intelligence (AI) is used in everyday life and professional settings, with a special focus on Icelandic applications. Participants will learn about key types of AI, their possibilities and limitations, and how to apply AI solutions responsibly.

Um námskeiðið

“AI in Practice: From Global Impact to Local Solutions in Iceland” is designed for those who want to understand how AI works in real-world contexts—without needing deep technical expertise. Led by Saga Úlfarsdóttir, an engineer with over a decade of experience in AI and data science, the course guides participants through the evolution of AI, key system types (such as prediction models, conversational agents, and agentic systems), and how these are used by Icelandic companies and institutions. The course also addresses ethical concerns, data bias, and risks related to privacy and the use of closed-source AI tools. The goal is to equip participants with the knowledge needed to make informed and responsible decisions about AI implementation in their own organizations.
