Helstu upplýsingar
Stutt lýsing
We are offering two standalone courses:
- Clinical sEMG in Hamstring & ACL
- Clinical sEMG in Shoulders
You may register for either course individually or attend both, depending on your professional interests and learning goals.

Um námskeiðið
This workshop focuses on how surface electromyography, sEMG, can be used to guide exercise prescription, support clinical reasoning, and enhance rehabilitation decision-making. Emphasis is placed on understanding what sEMG can show, how it should be interpreted, and how practitioners can apply this information in real-world exercise and rehabilitation settings.
The workshop combines theory and practical application. Participants will explore how sEMG can inform exercise selection, with specific focus on hamstring training, muscle activation strategies, and ACL rehabilitation. The aim is to move beyond simply observing muscle activity and instead use sEMG as a practical tool to support better programming, feedback, and progression.
Throughout the workshop, participants will work with applied examples and practical demonstrations to understand how sEMG can be integrated into their own professional practice. The emphasis is on using objective muscle activation data responsibly, while recognising the strengths, limitations, and clinical context of sEMG.
Why choose this workshop?
- Gain an in-depth understanding of how sEMG can support exercise prescription and
rehabilitation practice.
- Learn how muscle activation data can inform exercise selection, progression, and individualisation.
- Develop a clearer understanding of hamstring function during different exercise tasks.
- Explore how sEMG can be used practically in hamstring training and rehabilitation.
- Understand how sEMG biofeedback can support ACL rehabilitation and neuromuscular retraining.
- Learn how to use real-time feedback to improve exercise execution and patient engagement.
- Increase confidence in interpreting sEMG data while recognising its limitations.
- Connect sEMG theory to practical decision-making in clinical, rehabilitation, and performance settings.
What will I learn?
- What sEMG is, what it measures, and how it can be used in exercise and rehabilitation contexts.
- How to interpret sEMG information when comparing exercises or assessing muscle activation strategies.
- How sEMG can support more targeted exercise prescription for athletes, patients, and active populations.
- How different hamstring exercises may influence activation patterns and training outcomes.
- How to apply sEMG during practical hamstring-focused exercise tasks.
- How sEMG can be used as a biofeedback tool during ACL rehabilitation.
- How real-time muscle activation feedback can support improved quadriceps and hamstring recruitment.
- How to integrate sEMG findings into professional reasoning, programming, and rehabilitation progression.
